MIF (IDB): The Multilateral Investment Fund was established in 1993. Since its inception, MIF guiding principle has been to promote broad-based economic growth through private sector development, particularly micro enterprises and small business. MIF is supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) with current assets of US$1.8 bi.
ABN AMRO Real: Originally, BCIS/Sudameris was one of the investors in the REIF. However, its position in REIF was transferred to ABN since the Dutch bank bought Sudameris in October 2003.
SEBRAE: SEBRAE is a technical NPO (privately held) that has the mission to support the development of micro enterprises and small business in Brazil.
SEBRAE-SP: SEBRAE-SP is a member of SEBRAE. It has the same guidelines than its parent institution which is to promote the development of micro enterprises and small business in Brazil. Despite the fact of being correlated to its parent institution SEBRAE, SEBRAE-SP has autonomy to develop independent project tailored to the State of Sao Paulo’s needs.

BNDESPAR: The Brazilian Development Bank (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social) is a federal public bank associated with the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Its goal is to provide long-term financing to enterprises and fuel sustainable development.
FINEP: FINEP is a public financing agency subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Technology. Its mission is to offer a financial source to support technology innovation and scientific research in private and public institutions and hence promote the national social-economic development.
PETROS: Petros, the second largest pension fund in Brazil, provides pensions to Petrobras workers. As of July ’05, PETROS total assets totaled more than R$33 bi.
CERES: CERES is a pension fund sponsored by several companies: EMPRAPA, EMBRATER, EPAGRI, EMATER-MG and EPAMIG. CERES is one of the 50 biggest pension funds in Brazil: as of September ’07, total assets were approximately R$2 bi.
FUNCEF: FUNCEF is the third largest pension fund in Brazil: as of ’06, its total assets position summed more than US$12.5 bi. FUNCEF is sponsored by Caixa Econômica Federal, which is a Brazilian Government Bank Institution – in addition to banking, Caixa also provides services such as: lotteries, social programs payments, unemployment benefit and urban infrastructure investments.
